Two Detentions Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
